The Fremantle Port Authority (FPA) has awarded Stevenson Logistics a long term lease for a 58,000 m2 facility at the reclaimed site of Rous Head.
As part of their joint venture with Container Cargo Specialists, Stevenson Logistics will develop a state-of-the-art, on-port site and inject much needed additional infrastructure into the Fremantle port precinct.
This new world-class facility has been purpose-built to offer greater capacity and a full range of logistics and quarantine services provided by Stevenson’s Fremantle and Forrestfield hub depots.
As a leading member of the WA Port Operations Task Force, Stevenson Logistics’ Managing Director, Jim Stevenson, is an active participant in the overall state government’s strategy to cope with future freight growth in WA. Recent container trade growth forecasted by the FPA shows that, at a base rate of growth of 5.5 per cent annually, the current container throughput at Fremantle Port will double before 2025.
“This on-site facility at Rous Head is a game-changer,” said Jim Stevenson. “It will allow us to extend solutions to container trade overall during the peak periods and support future trade needs,” he said.
As the major partner in the Rous Head Cargo Services (RHCS) joint venture, Stevenson Logistics is a critical participant in meeting the challenges of a rapidly growing port. The Fremantle Port Authority Rous Head expansion program is well under way.
